About ATX Actor's School
At ATX Actor's School, our approach to training is comprehensive and varied, and we prepare actors to work both on the stage and on the screen.
We welcome curious beginners and non-actors into our introductory courses, and challenge more experienced and working actors in our advanced classes. We offer a wide range of specialized courses in audition technique, voice/speech, improvisation, Shakespeare, directing, and screenwriting.
Our instructors are respected, working professionals, ready and primed to share their knowledge and give you the necessary tools to provoke your creative spirit.

Our History
Formerly known as The State Theatre School of Acting, The Actor's School was founded by Babetta George in 1993. Beginning in 2000, classes were offered in partnership with Austin Community College Continuing Education. As of 2027, ATX Actor's School is a program of ATX Theatre, Austin's theatregoing hub.
