Frequently Asked Questions
Our Acting: Fundamentals, Acting: Groundwork, Improv for Actors, Training the Speaking Voice, Accents for Film & Stage, Accent Modification, Voiceover I, and Foundations of Singing classes are appropriate for beginners.
Our Teen Acting: Fundamentals and Teen Acting: On Camera classes may be taken by beginners.
Other class offerings require either a prerequisite from The Actor's School, or equivalent experience from another studio or program.
Where are your classes held?
We have classes at locations in North Austin, Downtown, and South Austin. We also offer voiceover and accent classes via Zoom.

All of our locations offer free surface lot parking.
Can my child or teen take classes?
We do not offer classes for children 13 and under. We offer several classes a year for teens 14-17. Our standard classes may be taken by people 18 and older.
Do I need theatre or acting experience?
Do your instructors offer private coaching?
Several instructors at The Actor's School offer private coaching for older teens and adults. Areas of study range from self-taping, monologues, voice, Shakespeare, and more. Contact the school for more information at hello@theactorsschool.org.
What is your refund policy?
Cancellations requested at least 7 full days before the first session of a class are eligible for a refund.
Cancellations requested less than 7 full days before the first session, or at any point after a class has begun, are not eligible for a refund. At the School's discretion, credit may instead be issued toward a future class.
If the School cancels a class, for reasons including, but not limited to, low enrollment or instructor unavailability, students will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer their payment to another class.
If I miss a class, can I make it up?
No refunds or credits are issued for individual missed classes once a class has begun. If you know in advance that you will miss more than one class in a session, we recommend that you sign up for a different offering.
