Tika's Approach to Teaching

My teaching style is honest, conversational, and practical. I want students to leave class with information they can actually use and a clearer understanding of how to take ownership of their careers.

I believe actors should understand the industry from multiple perspectives, not just how to audition, but how to communicate professionally, build strong materials, navigate representation, create relationships, and recognize opportunities.

Meet Tika Cook

Tika Cook is an Austin-based photographer and industry educator, and a former actor and talent agent who brings a unique perspective to teaching. Tika began her journey as a child actor, growing up in the industry and eventually building a 15+ year professional acting career. She worked across print, industrials, national commercials, and episodic projects before transitioning behind the scenes as an agent with Bennett Connection Talent Agency. Today, through Tika Creations, Tika continues to work alongside Texas actors as a photographer and industry educator, while also working in casting and professional development. Her experience on both sides of the table has given her a firsthand understanding of the challenges actors face and the knowledge they need to navigate the industry with confidence. Tika is passionate about giving actors the information, perspective, and practical tools she wishes she had earlier in her own career. She believes actors shouldn't just learn how to get in the room, they should understand the business that gets them there, how to navigate it once they're there, and how to build a career beyond the audition. Her goal is to help actors feel informed, prepared, and empowered to take ownership of their careers while staying true to who they are as artists.
